Gilat Connects w/Beyond-Line-Of-Sight...Connectivity For Long Endurance Unmanned Systems

[SatNews] Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd.'s (NASDAQ, TASE: GILT) Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLoS) solutions will be on display at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems 2015 event, May 5-7 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia  at Booth # 2143.

At the booth, Gilat will display its BlackRay terminals, which enable connectivity for long-endurance flights while maximizing payload weight. Gilat SATCOM solutions feature:

  • Low-SWaP profiles, ideal for low-weight UAVs
  • Larger panels for larger bitrates
  • Support for full-duplex satellite communications
  • Spectrum-efficient IP connectivity

The BlackRay Satcom terminals are specially designed for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV). These terminals have been used worldwide for military and commercial applications which require high throughput communications and minimal size, weight, and power (SWaP).

These highly integrated terminals feature best-of-breed antenna, modem and BUC technologies developed and manufactured by Gilat. Customized solutions of the BlackRay platform are also available for specific customer platforms and needs.

“As one of the industry's smallest and most compact aerial solutions, Gilat BlackRay terminals enable broadband communications that facilitate intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLoS),” said Moshe (Chico) Tamir, Gilat Corporate VP and President of the Mobility Division. “As a world leader in SATCOM Mobility, our solution suite keeps our customers connected at all times—on land, at sea and in the air.”

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are capable of long flights while carrying significant payload weight. Satellite communications enable broadband communications that facilitate intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions beyond line of sight (BLoS).

Gilat’s BlackRay 71 is a highly integrated airborne Satcom terminal with minimal size, weight, and power (SWaP) that enables high throughput communications.  It comprises best-of-breed antenna, modem and BUC technologies developed and manufactured by Gilat. Customized solutions of the BlackRay 71 platform are also available for specific customer platforms and needs.
