“Securing the ability to do business in Russia has been a top priority of ORBCOMM’s OEM customers, and we are extremely pleased to be working with a leading distributor like Morsviazsputnik to further expand the reach of our satellite business in this important geographic market,” said Marc Eisenberg, ORBCOMM’s Chief Executive Officer.

“Morsviazsputnik’s strong market presence in Russia combined with our powerful IDP service positions us well to provide customers with even more connectivity options and broader network coverage.”

“We are very pleased to partner with ORBCOMM to provide IDP service in Russia, which is an important and mutually beneficial milestone for both of our companies,” said Andrey Kuropyatnikov, General Director of Morsviazsputnik. “By leveraging ORBCOMM’s proven leadership in heavy equipment telematics, Morsviazsputnik will increase the distribution and reach of the IDP service offering in Russia.”

The IDP series supports a wide range of security and location-based M2M services, from heavy equipment telematics, to tracking and in-cab messaging for fleet management, to transmitting fixed equipment telemetry information for remote oil & gas monitoring, to vessel tracking and buoy monitoring in maritime applications.

ORBCOMM and Morsviazsputnik will be able to market and distribute SkyWave’s IDP service in Russia immediately. Through the addition of Russia, ORBCOMM with SkyWave’s IDP service is now able to market and distribute its M2M products and services in more than 130 countries and territories around the world.
