ORBIT’s...  Gaia-100 Is Steps Ahead With Small Footprint For Tracking LEOs (Earth Station)

[SatNews]...can be installed on building roofs and tolerate severe environmental conditions...the three axes tracking mode eliminates the keyhole effect, enabling continuous real time data downloading from the satellites.

ORBIT Communication Systems, a leading provider of Satellite Communication, Earth Observation, Tracking & Telemetry and Communication Management Systems, today announced two new orders for its Gaia™-100 ground station series at the 2014 Space Symposium.

Under these contracts, ORBIT will deliver 2.4m and 3.7m Gaia-100 tracking antennas, respectively. Each of these systems is based on a high-gain, dual band S&X feed design, allowing bi-directional communication with the LEO satellites.

The Gaia-100 series is a cost-effective solution for tracking, transmitting and downloading data from LEO satellites. Compact, relatively light weight and operating under a radome, the Gaia-100 can be installed on building roofs and tolerate severe environmental conditions. Its three axes tracking mode eliminates the keyhole effect, enabling continuous real time data downloading from the satellites.

According to Ofer Greenberger, ORBIT's CEO: "In addition to our Gaia-200 to Gaia-400 line of products, we have recently added the Gaia-100 series, which offers a small footprint ground station to track LEO satellites. This new product series efficiently addresses the needs of diverse earth observation market segments and applications. Based on the positive feedback we have received thus far, we firmly believe that the Gaia-100 is a very attractive offering meeting the technical requirements of large ground systems with ground breaking cost of ownership model.

ORBIT provides reliable turnkey ground station solutions with full responsibility for on-time delivery, installation, training and after-sale service, based on its 24/7 global technical support presence and decades of experience in satellite tracking.
