Newtec Celebrates 30th Anniversary...Has The Connections Celebrates w/Honors, New Technologies + Growth


[SatNews] Newtec, a specialist in designing, developing and manufacturing equipment and technologies for satellite communications, today kick-started its 30th anniversary celebrations, announcing significant sales growth and expanding into new markets.

Founded in 1985 by two engineers with a vision, Dirk Breynaert, the company’s current CTO, and Jean-Marie Maes, Newtec is today one of the world’s top players. In particular, Newtec’s specialization in Research and Development (R&D) paved the way to its extensive portfolio of innovations, partnerships, standardizations and industry recognition for broadcast, government and defense, IP trunking and consumer and enterprise VSAT. Through its expertise and cooperation with its customers, Newtec has made the world a safer, more informed and connected place.

Over the last several years, Newtec has performed strongly in its core markets, pointing to market evolutionand its strong performance in the Direct to Home (DTH), broadcast systems, consumer and enterprise markets as key drivers for its success in 2014 which saw a 20 percent sales growth.

The company will retain its focus while also putting a stronger emphasis on fast growing markets, including High Throughput Satellite (HTS), oil and gas and cellular backhaul.

“These figures underline that our strategic direction is on course to provide a strong base for the future,” said Thomas Van den Driessche, Chief Commercial Officer of Newtec. “We have outpaced the market in terms of growth, resulting in us taking a larger proportion of market share.”

The evolving multiservice ecosystem will further fuel this growth, with the Newtec Dialog®platform allowing service providers and broadcasters to build and adapt their network easilyas their business grows and the market changes.

Recently, the Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) announced it will honor Newtec’s Co-Founder and CTO, Dirk Breynaert, with a 2015 induction into the Satellite Hall of Fame. This officially recognizes his 30-year history with the company, during which time he was responsible for an extensive number of innovations which came as a result of his constant ambition to push the technical boundaries of satellite communications.
