UPDATE For Wednesday: ULA Atlas V NROL-38 Is On A Roll...To Launch



A United Launch Alliance Atlas V launch vehicle, carrying the NROL-38 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office, is rolled to the launch pad at Space Launch Complex-41.

the vehicle was rolled back to the launch pad this morning following the replacement of an environmental control system duct. Everything is moving forward for the Atlas V NROL-38 launch set for tomorrow, Wednesday, June 20 from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The L-2 weather forecast shows a 70 percent chance of favorable weather conditions for launch.

Wednesday
6:00 a.m.: 45th SW/PA meets media at the Kennedy Space Center Pass and ID Building on State Road 3 for escort to media launch viewing site

Atlas V to Launch NROL-38

Rocket/Payload:  An Atlas V 401 configuration will launch the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) NROL-38 mission.

Launch Notes:  This launch will be the 5th ULA launch for 2012, the 31st Atlas V launch, and the 61st launch for ULA. This launch also marks the second of four planned launches for the NRO in 2012 and the first of three NRO launches in just six weeks.

Mission Description: The mission will be launched for the National Reconnaissance Office in support of national defense.
