[SatNews] They will celebrate their 30th anniversary, and present a new product at C10822 at this year’s NBAA, 10 – 12 October, Las Vegas.

Thrane & Thrane announces plans today (Monday 10th October 2011) to introduce a new software and hardware version of its cutting-edge AVIATOR 700, which will make the solution ready for full CNS/ATM and safety service use.

Following completion of an STC installation on a Falcon 900 EX- EASY aircraft of the RTCA DO-178B Level-D software and DO-254 Level D hardware, expected in December of this year the AVIATOR 700D system will allow for FANS (Future Air Navigation System), CPDLC (Controller Pilot Data Link Communications) and voice safety service operations via the system’s cockpit data and H+ voice channels.

Thrane & Thrane’s AVIATOR 700 provides both Classic and SwiftBroadband services in one complete package for a multitude of applications including cockpit voice dialing, in-flight calling and internet browsing. By satisfying forthcoming mandates for future air navigation, the integration of the new Level D software and hardware will offer a straightforward upgrade for existing Level E systems, making it a cost effective option for retrofit customers seeking to update their systems in-line with FANS and CPDLC.

“We are very excited about the forthcoming availability of the Level-D software and hardware, which is set to significantly benefit pilots by enabling the system to offer new safety capabilities in-line with the latest FAN and CPDLC operations,” comments Kim Gram, Vice President, Aeronautical Business Unit, Thrane & Thrane. “Bringing the AVIATOR 700 up to these hardware and software levels makes it the best all around solution for cockpit and cabin connectivity on the market today and also offers a cost effective solution compared with the nearest competing system in its class.”

In addition to the AVIATOR 700 service update, Thrane & Thrane is outlining the exceptional cabin connectivity options of the AVIATOR 700, including built-in Wi-Fi and 6 port router for SwiftBroadband and Swift64 services which eliminates the need for additional hardware to enable complete passenger connectivity. By offering built-in Wi-Fi, the AVIATOR 700 offers reduced cost and complexity of installation and also assures a quicker resolution to any trouble shooting of connectivity issues.
