"As a premier supporter for the overall NAB Show, and as one of the most vocal proponents of the use of video technology in military applications, Harris Corporation is the ideal partner to help NAB develop the new Military and Government Summit," said John Marino, vice president, Science and Technology, NAB. The program will identify ways in which government and military officials can use commercial video technologies for defense and emergency response applications. Government and nongovernment attendees will learn about next-generation military applications through presentations, workshops and technical papers that examine emergency communications and government uses of broadcast technology. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn how to create successful partnerships with government organizations.
"The Military and Government Summit will bring government and industry together to examine the programs and applications where video technology plays a leading role," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications. "As the world's largest digital media event, the NAB Show provides a comprehensive platform for examining these issues." According to NAB, the program will feature keynote speakers from the Department of Defense, including Kevin P. Meiners of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSD). The following subject areas will be addressed by Harris speakers at the summit:
