[SatNews] Renewing their lease and working across vertical markets and various networks bodes well for...

At CABSAT in March, Globecomm celebrated the 10th anniversary of the founding its Dubai office in 2003. Globecomm Middle East has renewed its lease in Dubai Internet City and its business partnership with TECOM, a leading force in regional business development and founder of Internet City.

“The work we’ve done in the region—across market verticals and network types—and our expansion are a testament to our high-quality solutions and commitment to operations in the region,” said Paul Johnson, Sr. Vice President at Globecomm. “Recent appointments and promotions in our Dubai office will help us better serve existing and new customers as we deliver end-to-end audio and video communications systems, from satellite teleports to IP infrastructure.”

Over the past decade, Globecomm has provided satellite, wireless and media services to leading regional network providers, private media companies and government agencies. Globecomm worked with Samacom to build out and provision satellite bandwidth to launch initial Internet services and continues to support this carrier-class facility today, providing extended engineering and lifecycle support.

Michel El Khoury now serves as Globecomm Middle East’s managing director. Dr. Morshed Ali, Business Development Director, will continue to lead cellular and wireless initiatives with support from Yasir El-Sabitti for wireless and broadcast customers and installations.

The initiative will encompass other Globecomm entities, including Globecomm Europe, Globecomm South Africa, and Globecomm Maritime as well as Melat, Globecomm’s Internet service provider in Afghanistan.
