With the purchase of a new Series 15100 Universal Satellite Hub, as well as Evolution X5 and X3 routers and Evolution line cards, Turksat has significantly enhanced its existing investment in iDirect’s Intelligent Platform™ to pursue new market opportunities. Turksat’s upgrade to iDX 3.0 will augment the company’s TurksatVSAT offering, which provides support for voice and data transmission, Internet, VPN, and video conferencing. The multi-channel demodulation technology of iDX 3.0 brings significant efficiency improvements to Turksat’s VSAT services. By combining up to eight inbound channels on a single satellite line card, Turksat can reduce its hardware and bandwidth costs and maximize hub capacity, which is critical as the company scales to meet greater customer demand and enter new vertical markets.
The Company has also announced that YahService, the end-to-end managed satellite solutions division of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PrJSC (Yahsat), has launched a new VSAT service based on the iDirect Evolution Platform. This VSAT service, which is based on the highly successful iDirect Evolution Platform and Cisco’s unified communication system, on the opening day of CABSAT, the Middle East's largest digital media & satellite expo, where Yahsat is exhibiting. The introduction of the new managed VSAT service has significantly added to YahService’s business proposition by strengthening its turnkey satellite solutions for a wide-range of market segments including governments, defence, energy, healthcare and financial sectors.
