[SatNews] located in the Sahel zone of Burkina Faso, which is currently a very dangerous area due to the regional conflicts and food shortages.

In July 2012, TSF installed a Vizada supplied BGAN satellite connection in Gorom-Gorom for UN agencies and all the NGOs working in the area. This field office enabled assessment missions along the Mali border.

The refugee camp of Djibo will be linked via satellite phones IsatPhone Pro as soon as TSF receives the government agreement.

Upon receiving the authorization, an additional TSF team will be deployed to work with Malian refugees in the Ferrerio camp, north of Gorom-Gorom, which currently shelters more than 25,000 people. This evaluation mission will allow the beginning of humanitarian calling operations in the coming days.

For these actions, Isatphone Pro satellite telephones supplied by Vizada will be available for the refugees to call their families free of charge, with an estimated number of calls per day at 100 per camp.

The Malian refugee camps are located in the Sahel zone of Burkina Faso, which is currently a very dangerous area due to the regional conflicts and food shortages. The majority of the refugees come from Timbuktu, Gao and Gossi. Currently, more than 60,000 refugees have fled Mali to find shelter in Burkina Faso.
