COM DEV's Contract...It Pays To Switch (SAT)


[SatNews] COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX: CDV), today was awarded contracts to provide switches and other microwave components for a commercial communications satellite. The total value of the contracts is in excess of CDN$6 million, and will be recorded as a new order in the Company’s 2010 fiscal year. This manufacturer of space hardware subsystems expects to complete work on the contracts by the end of fiscal 2011 at its facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

“We are pleased to win repeat business from one of our long-standing customers,” said Michael Pley, Interim CEO of COM DEV.  “This particular satellite will be deployed primarily to deliver HD video programming, which continues to be a major driver of demand for additional commercial satellite capacity.

COM DEV International Ltd. has facilities in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, and manufactures advanced products and subsystems that are sold to major satellite prime contractors for use in communications, space science, remote sensing and military satellites.
