Navy's 239th Birthday Celebration Includes Whatever Floats Your Boat...  All-Hands Call, Social Media, Q + A + More

[SatNews] An anniversary is always a great time to reflect, discuss, and enjoy, especially when it's something that is 239 years old.

The Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) will hold a worldwide Navy birthday All Hands Call October 7 at 1 p.m. EST from the Defense Media Activity at Ft. Meade, Maryland. The two will talk to, and answer questions from the studio audience and Sailors in the fleet via live, remote video casts, social media, phone-ins and prerecorded video questions. The all-hands call is part of a series of events this week in recognition of the Navy's 239th birthday, October 13, 2014. 

The two top Navy leaders will speak to Sailors from units stationed across the world. Following the remarks, CNO and MCPON will answer previously submitted questions from the fleet and also field questions live from Sailors worldwide.


The all hands call will be televised on Direct-To-Sailor (DTS) and will be streamed live online at www.navy.mil and the Navy Live blog at.
