Emerging Markets Communications—More Hope For NetHope (SATCOM—NGOs)

[SatNews] Emerging Markets Communications announced their support of NetHope's mission of providing Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs) with technology resources to be more efficient and effective in pursuit of their various missions.

NetHope is a catalyst in fostering relationships with leading international NGOs and the private sector. NetHope helps drive innovation for its members by providing education on technology and best practices that can be used to serve people in the developing world.

Jan Erik Kjaer, Sr. Vice President of NGOs, Emerging Markets Communications, said, "The value NetHope brings is truly instrumental in enabling its members to reach their full potential. Our passion for technology and experience delivering connectivity solutions to international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in remote locations, allows EMC to serve as viable resource for its members."

"We welcome EMC to NetHope's strategic partnership program—a collection of organizations focused on making a positive impact in the NGO community," said Kevin MacRitchie, Sr. Director, Global Programs, Connectivity & Infrastructure, NetHope. "EMC's experience with humanitarian organizations as well as its preferential NGO pricing, foot print, engineering expertise, and commitment to corporate social responsibility all contribute to forming this new alliance."

NetHope has five strategic programs, which are designed to connect its members with technology leaders in each area to explore new technologies, share ideas and best practices. These programs include Connectivity, Field Capacity Response, Emergency Response, Shared Services, and Innovation for Development. EMC will contribute to NetHope's strategic programs, as needed, to meet the goals of the mission.

Many international NGOs have relied on Emerging Markets Communications over the last 10 years for satellite connectivity in undeveloped countries throughout Africa the Middle East, South America and Asia-Pacific, in response to emergencies or humanitarian aid efforts.
