Hawaii Pacific Teleport announced they have put into service a Standard ‘A’ (15.5m) c-band antenna on the NSS-5 satellite at 183° E for an anchor customer who serves maritime end users across the Pacific Ocean. Vince Waterson, VP of business development at Hawaii Pacific Teleport, said “The addition of this new antenna to our extensive antenna farm makes Hawaii Pacific Teleport the largest independent teleport in Hawaii and positions us as the primary satellite gateway between Asia and the USA." Established in 2000 and winner of the 2003 WTA award for the fastest growing teleport on the planet, HPT has grown from a green field site to the largest independent teleport in Hawaii. The privately held company has a total of 14 antennas operating in C-, Extended C- and Ku-band and accesses satellites covering the Asia Pacific region, North America, and Mexico. HPT provides Internet service via satellite to many parts of Asia and Pacific Islands through its extensive U.S. fiber backbone connectivity and operates a 24x7 Network Operations Center staffed by RF and Internet engineers. The company also provides television relay services between U.S. and Asian satellites.
