ARINC began collaborating with the two regional civil aviation authorities in 1998 with the express purpose of offering a greater choice of communications providers and services. Today, ten years after service launch, GLOBALink has become a leading service used daily by 78 airlines flying more than 3,000 equipped aircraft. The GLOBALink network ground infrastructure in Asia/Pacific has now expanded to include 140 Remote Ground Stations located across 12 countries.
“The success of GLOBALink would not have been achieved without loyal airline customers and our dedicated partners, ADCC and AEROTHAI. We must also credit the foresight of those who worked on this initiative in the early days,” stated Randy Pizzi, Vice President and Managing Director, ARINC Asia Pacific. “They forged two positive business relationships that have grown stronger every year as we developed more services and reached more markets. The future of GLOBALink is clearly exciting, and ARINC looks forward to it, along with our extended family of customers and partners.”
ARINC renewed its contracts with ADCC and AEROTHAI in 2005 to capitalize on GLOBALink’s long-term potential in the region. This re-affirmation of business relationships was a testament to the successful partnerships that brought advanced aviation data link communication services to Asia Pacific. GLOBALink is a seamless, end-to-end data link system that enables air crews to communicate and exchange information with ground crews and airline host systems anywhere in the world and without interruption.
