Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L), provider of global mobile satellite communications services, is supporting local partner OnixTec in showcasing its market-leading machine-to-machine (M2M) services and a full range of integrated solutions at DistribuTECH Brazil, the South American conference for the energy transmission and distribution industry.

Delegates from the hydropower and electricity transmission and distribution sectors in North and South America, Africa and Europe will learn how Inmarsat’s M2M solutions offer the complete visibility and control they need over their infrastructure. Inmarsat’s two-way, low-data-rate satellite services provide always-on connectivity in areas where GPRS/cellular services are unreliable and “stressed” due to congestion.

Exhibiting this year at the Transamerica Expo Centre in Sao Paulo (booth #721), Inmarsat will present its expanded portfolio of voice and data solutions, and a game-changing pipeline of new services, including:

BGAN M2M: Inmarsat’s broadband global area network (BGAN) provides ubiquitous two-way IP data connectivity for low-volume, high-frequency bursts of data and supports Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications.

IsatData Pro: IsatData Pro is a global, low-data-rate service for long-term, machine-to-machine monitoring and control of fixed assets in remote, unmanned and inaccessible locations.

Push-to-talk: Push-to-talk is a hybrid voice dispatch and communication system that extends traditional push-to-talk (PTT) capabilities over BGAN where there is no terrestrial network coverage.

Remote Terminal Manager: Inmarsat’s Remote Terminal Manager is a web-based solution for remote monitoring, control and updating BGAN equipment and IP devices in the field.
