Keysight's Smart Like A Fox Savings For FieldFox Portable Spectrum Analyzer

Water-resistant chassis, keypad and case can withstand wide temperature ranges and harsh environmental conditions.

Keysight's 50 GHz portable spectrum analyzer, the 8565, has been the only analyzer of it kind for more than 20 years. That's a long time to hold the record, but now the company is announcing a new and improved product, the handheld 50 GHz FieldFox. And to their clients who already have the 8565E or 8565EC they are being offered a savings of $30k.

The improvements in FieldFox spectrum analyzer are:

  • Equal or better performance
Large buttons are easy to operate, even when wearing gloves
Non-slip rubber grip securely fits in your hands and won’t slide off the hood of your vehicle
Vertical “portrait” orientation makes it easy to hold and operate at the same time
Light weight of 7.1 pounds makes FieldFox easier to carry than similar analyzers
  • Highest reliability
FieldFox is a highly integrated millimeter-wave analyzer
Historical data shows that the FieldFox family is at least two-times more reliable than the 8565 family
That allows Keysight to offer the standard three-year warranty and optional five-, seven- and 10-year warranties
  • Lower cost of ownership
The 8565E was discontinued in April 2001, with official end-of-support life in April 2006
The 8565EC was discontinued in June 2012, with official end-of-support life in May of 2017
More expensive for repair and calibration of outdated analyzers
  • Rugged
    Meets MIL-PRF-28800F Class 2
    Water-resistant chassis, keypad and case
Case withstands shock, vibration and drop testing
    Wide operating temperature –10° C to +55° C (14 to 131° F)
Specially designed bay protects connectors from damage due to drops or other external impacts
Dust-free design with no vents or fans extend instrument reliability
Meets IEC/EN 60529 IP53 requirements for protection from dust and water
Gasket-sealed doors protect instrument interface from moisture
Operable in explosive environments: type tested and meets MIL- STD-810G, Method 511.5, Procedure I requirements
