Spacecom—Getting Tee'd Off (SatBroadcasting™—Content Delivery)

[SatNews] Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), the operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, has been selected to provide broadcast services on AMOS-5 located at 17 degrees East for the Nedbank Golf Challenge, Africa's top international golf tournament—the tournament will take place from December 5th through the 8th, 201,3 in Sun City, South Africa.

AMOS-5 will broadcast the golf tournament, often referred to as “Africa's Major”, on its pan-African C-band beam.

“Sports broadcasting is an integral part of the services that AMOS-5 at 17°E provides,” said Eyal Copitt, Spacecom’s senior vice president of sales for Africa, Asia and marketing. “The Nedbank Golf Challenge is an exciting event whose participants literally come from around the globe to compete for stature and prizes. AMOS-5 is helping the tournament organizers meet viewers' needs on the continent, as well as around the world."

AMOS-5 was designed and built specifically for the African market with a pan-African C-band beam and three Ku-bands that cover the continent and provide connectivity to Europe and the Middle East. The satellite's position enables its signal to reach every region in Sub-Saharan Africa.
