Comtech Systems, Inc. here specializes in system design, integration, supply and commissioning of turnkey communication systems including over-the-horizon microwave, line-of-sight microwave and satellite.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today that its Orlando, Florida-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems, Inc., received an order valued at $5.5 million for its Modular Transportable Troposcatter System ("MTTS") from a prime U.S. defense contractor for end use by the U.S. Army.

MTTS, the first truly modular, rapidly deployable, transit case-based troposcatter system, represents a major advancement in rapidly deployable troposcatter systems. The MTTS cases are designed to be used in line-of-sight ("LOS"), beyond-line-of-sight ("BLOS") dual diversity, and full over-the-horizon microwave (tropo) quad diversity applications.

The MTTS solution delivers high-throughput capacity to enable mission-critical surveillance, situational awareness and real-time data to remote, infrastructure-challenged locations. MTTS allows direct transmission between sites, eliminates recurring costs, and reduces the complexity and delay in satellite communications currently used today. The MTTS solution enhances communications capabilities with seamless compatibility and interoperability with legacy-fielded troposcatter systems used currently by the U.S. Military, including the AN/TRC-170.

Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said, "This award for additional MTTS terminals is a testament to our industry-leading and field-proven troposcatter system technology. We are pleased that MTTS will play an important role in delivering mission-critical bandwidth to the battlefield."

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. designs, develops, produces and markets innovative products, systems and services for advanced communications solutions. The Company believes many of its solutions play a vital role in providing or enhancing communication capabilities when terrestrial communications infrastructure is unavailable, inefficient or too expensive. The Company conducts business through three complementary segments: telecommunications transmission, RF microwave amplifiers and mobile data communications.
