Satellite images have been known to create a controversy and certainly this article from the Mirror is having fun with a curious element found in a satellite's image taken over Antarctica.
Bizarre satellite images appear to have revealed a huge staircase leading up the side of a snowy mountain in Antarctica.
The unusual sight has sparked a fierce debate between conspiracy theorists after it was spotted in Google Earth images.
Some suggested it could be part of a pyramid structure, while others claimed the lines were tracks left behind by a UFO or air vents for a huge underground colony.
Many people even believe the image proves the City of Atlantis is real—and actually located in Antarctica.
Conspiracy theory hunter Tyler Glockner from SecureTeam 10 posted his explanation behind the picture on YouTube.
He said: “I don't believe these are actually "stairs", but they are in my opinion way too perfectly constructed to be natural "wind dunes", which oddly enough look nothing like the surrounding wind-shaped landscape, and only appear in one single spot on the entire 100 mile area, nowhere else.
"Must be one of those magical lone rectangular wind dunes."
Shelbie Knight wrote: "If you look closely at the first anomaly, to the right and below, there appears to be two more sets of "stairs," further buried.
"It's as if you can see something there under the layers of ice, in a pattern, as if there were stairs, then a landing, then stairs to the right, another landing, then another set."
While Angry Alien wrote: "(It's) air vents. Not pipes.
"Beings underground need air from the surface."
While others claimed it looked like tracks in the snow, some believed the whole thing had been photoshopped.
