Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) has received a US$140 million order to provide systems integration and information technology (IT) services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). NGA, a major intelligence and combat support agency of the Department of Defense, is acquiring the services under a new multi-vendor five-year, IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) contract. Harris will perform the contract through its National Intelligence Programs business. Harris was one of four companies that received the IDIQ award under the agency's Applied IT Solutions (AITS) contract, which covers a broad range of engineering support, integration services, and related material needed to accelerate access to NGA's GEOINT (geospatial intelligence) data and services and to transform the use of GEOINT across its customer base. The contract also provides continuity for NGA programs currently supported by Harris for imagery access and retrieval, such as the web-based Access and Retrieval Portal (WARP).
