ETL Systems...RF Equipment Amps, Splits + Switches @ IMS 2015

[SatNews] ETL Systems, a global designer and manufacturer of RF distribution equipment for satellite communications, will showcase three new products from its components range at this year’s International Microwave Symposium 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona, Booth No: 2225.

StingRay

The new StingRay RF over Fiber standalone module is a compact unit that provides single inter-facility links without the need of a chassis is the perfect solution for fixed feeds where remote control is not required. LNB voltage and gain mode can be controlled manually via a switch on the module, and input signal levels can be monitored via a -20dB monitor port.

ODU Amplifier

ETL’s new Outdoor Unit (ODU) Amplifier – which has already been utilized by BAE Systems Australia to increase gain within its system due to signal level problems on a flyaway system – features an IP65-rated weather enclosure, as well as offering a high, 1dB gain compression point for high power applications and a low noise figure for optimum signal quality.

Also due to be demonstrated is the new ODU Ku-band Passive Splitter/Combiner, which can be placed outdoors as a standalone unit without requiring any other weatherproof chassis. This two-way Ku-band splitter/combiner has DC pass on all ports and a high temperature range. ETL Systems’ splitters/combiners have already proven popular, with products provided to 37 sites throughout Taiwan by ETL’s partner ST Electronics for military use, as well as splitting RF feeds for Intelsat’s service provision for Korea and Asia-Pacific.

ETL’s rack mountable 32x32 Enigma L-band Switch Matrix / Router will also be on display, alongside the components range.

Susan Sadaat, Vice President of ETL’s North American Sales and Operations will be among ETL representatives at IMS, which takes place from May 17 to May 22, to demonstrate the range of products and highlight ETL’s quarter of a century of experience in designing award-winning RF equipment. The company is also recognized internationally for its innovation and professional service and benefits from dedicated in-house RF and test engineers, with custom-made solutions a particular speciality.

ETL’s new ODU amplifiers offer increased durability for outdoor use coupled with high performance. This inline powered, fixed gain amplifier chassis features a high, 1dB gain compression point, low noise figure and an IP65-rated weatherproof enclosure for use on teleports, video head-ends and TVRO.

ETL Systems’ StingRay RF Over Fiber Standalone Modules builds on existing RF expertise, the new range provides a unique design for high isolation applications.

“This is the most compact unit of its kind on the market, capable of fitting the greatest number of hot-swap transmit and receive fiber modules in the smallest space,” said Dr. Esen Bayar, Technical Director of ETL Systems. “We have focused on excellent module-to-module isolation and this StingRay fiber chassis helps satellite teleports with transition distances up to 10km.”

The compact, EMC-sealed standalone unit is ideal for single fiber inter-facility links and fixed feeds where no remote control is required.

ETL Systems’ Outdoor Unit (ODU) Splitters/ Combiners

  • A new range of web-enabled professional splitters and combiners to cover the Ku-band frequency range will be available to view at IMS 2015. The new ODU splitters/combiners can be mounted directly to an antenna or outdoor system, have a high temperature range and require no other weatherproof chassis in order to function outdoors.

ETL Systems Scorpion Passive Component Mounting System

  • The new components mounting system offers an easy-to-use, cost-effective and compact system for ETL's Scorpion range of passive L-band splitter/combiner components. This 1U 19" chassis is designed to accommodate ETL's 2, 4, and 8-way passive splitter/combiner modules. It is designed to utilise standard 19” mounting systems to allow compact, neat mounting of RF components.

ETL Systems 32x32 Enigma L-band Router

  • The 32 x 32 Enigma Matrix Router is ideal for signal monitoring of satellite traffic, RF content acquisition for TVRO and IPTV head ends, and remote controlled, unmanned satcom sites. The system is extremely reliable benefiting from hot-swap components and continuous monitoring, and can be supplied part populated and expanded in increments of 1. Features include: compact 6U high shelf; dual redundant, hot-swap PSU’s and CPU’s; hot-swap matrix cards; single input and output cards; self-diagnostics-continuous monitoring; and local and remote control.
