Crucial satellite services to the US Marine Corps will continue to be managed by a Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary.

The services—Ku- satellite bandwidth, terrestrial support and 24-hour support—provided to the Marine Corps' Tactical Satellite Communications Network continues through the exercise of a third-year contract option by the US Defense Information Systems Agency. The option is worth $14.4 million and covers the period from August 1, 2016, through July 31, 2017. Work will be conducted by Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary TeleCommunication Systems Inc., which is based in Maryland.

The exercise of the third-year option brings contract funding received by TeleCommunication Systems for the program to $58.4 million.
