Arqiva... Fore! No More Now IMG HD 'Open Golf' (Uplink Satellite Capacity)
[Satnews] Arqiva takes it to the green as they provide IMG with HD distribution of their Open Golf coverage. This included an
HD SNG truck on site, teleport services and space segment on multiple satellites for distribution of the HD feeds to audiences in Europe and Asia.

Malcolm Campbell,
Commercial Director at Arqiva Satellite & Media, said: “Having provided IMG with SNG and Occasional Use services for major sports events all around the world
we were very pleased to support their coverage of the Open Golf from St Andrews in Scotland. We deployed one of our
HD SNG trucks to uplink the HD players’ feed, which followed specific players throughout the tournament, to our satellite capacity covering Europe and Asia. Meanwhile our
London facility encoded IMG’s world feed to HD MPEG 2 for uplinking onto our Europe and Asia satellite capacity by our Winchester (UK) teleport. We thank IMG for their continued confidence in our SNG and OU services, entrusting us with the distribution of important international tournaments like the Open Golf.”
Arqiva has the infrastructure and experience to help rights owners, program makers and broadcasters to create and capture content, and to manage and deliver high quality television around the world.
With a fleet of SNG trucks and over 100 Earth stations at multiple teleports Arqiva regularly enables the managed global delivery of live and special events like major sports tournaments.
