[SatNews] This Company milestone will find them continuing their work with a leading Chinese provider...

Advantech Wireless has renewed its supply contract with one of China’s largest satellite communication providers, operating in all 26 provinces and offering telecommunication and broadcast services. This provider supplies communication capabilities in industries including entertainment, hospitality, internet and cellular backhaul. They also are a vital government partner during emergencies and disaster recovery, enabling essential communication to be established quickly. During 2011, Advantech Wireless will be delivering VSAT equipment, including new DVB-RCS VSAT hubs, solid state block up converters, frequency converters and high power amplifiers. This partnership will enhance the quality of service currently offered to the Chinese market though the installation of this state-of-the-art technology.

According to government statistics, Internet penetration in China grew from 7.9 percent in 2005 to 31.6 percent in 2010. Broadband users in China also increased, accounting for 45 percent of all new global broadband users in 2010. The government hopes to make the internet available to half of the country’s 1.3 billion people by 2015. This plan includes greatly improving access to the vast rural population who are not currently being served. Equipment from Advantech Wireless such as the GaN line of Ku-band BUCs, the Transcend T800 microwave radio, and the Millennium series of DVB-RCS VSAT Hubs, are part of solutions for remote areas, digital television, cellular backhaul and enterprise disaster recovery. This contract renewal is a milestone for Advantech Wireless as it represents more than half a decade of partnering with this satellite communications service provider.
