Applied Satellite Technology is currently undertaking Beta testing of the service in South Africa and is receiving positive feedback as to its capabilities and reliability. Designed to meet the needs of customers in remote geographic locations, the service is ideally suited for market sectors such as retail banking (remote POS machines), oil & gas, utilities and mining.

The service is optimized to support applications sending from 1 to 50MB per terminal per month and offers an economical, low latency solution for remote asset monitoring, data reporting, SCADA and smart metering requirements, promising to provide a global solution to the growing machine to machine market. As an existing and experienced BGAN Distribution Partner, AST will be able to supply and provision the BGAN M2M service from the launch of the service. AST company information here.
