Taking Spaceflight To The Personal + Commercial Level

ISPCS 2009 banner graphic At the International Symposium for Personal and Commercial Spaceflight (ISPCS), a panel titled “Space Operations: Lessons Learned & Opportunities for Innovation” will be chaired by James Van Laak, Federal Aviation Administration — its members will include Jerry Miller, United Space Alliance; Julia Tizard, Virgin Galactic; James M. Heflin, NASA Johnson Space Center; and Steve Landeene, New Mexico Spaceport Authority. The intent of this session is to examine high level critical approaches and successes and clearly discuss collaboration as we scale to meet this new industry’s needs. We learn from each other, from our successes, from our curiosity and interest in exploring ways to innovate when it makes sense. All ISPCS sessions are plenary, allowing everyone to receive the same information simultaneously. Responding to feedback, ISPCS has created multiple means of engaging the audience in discussions with speakers during sessions. Additional networking opportunities are scheduled throughout the two days. Held October 21 and 22 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA, ISPCS is organized by the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium, a member of the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program, administered by NASA.
