Orbit Extends Maritime Satcom Solution with OceanTRx™ 7 Dual-Band

Orbit Communication Systems Ltd. (TASE: ORBI), announces its latest dual-band Ku-/Ka- terminal extending Orbit’s multi-band maritime satellite communications solutions.

OceanTRx 7 Maritime Stabilized VSAT System

Developed in close cooperation with SES Networks, Orbit’s dual-band Ku-/Ka- terminal furthers the existing dual-band C/Ka terminal, supporting a multi-band terminal product range. The expansion of the frequency ranges and flexibility of the OceanTRx terminal enables ease of switching between SES’s multi-orbit Geostationary (GEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites.

Ben Weinberger, CEO of Orbit said that Orbit is a long-term technology partner for SES. Over the last four years we have become the leading provider of high-speed satellite terminals to large class cruise vessels, and have enabled SES Networks to deliver high-speed broadband services to its customers’ passengers and crew. This newest compact terminal can be easily installed and will be able to offer outstanding performance that is equivalent to a 2.4-meter dish.

Eric Watko, Executive Vice President, Product, Marketing & Strategy of SES Networks added that Orbit has been a creative and responsive partner as they expand their maritime managed services. They value Orbit’s ease of integration and reliability as enablers for their customers to leverage the benefits of the market’s only integrated multi-orbit data services. The new multi-band terminal will enable an even broader range of services via their GEO and MEO satellite system.
