Satellite Tracking Systems for FEMA, Brought to Them by Numerex and Software Tech Enterprises

Numerex Corp (NASDAQ:NMRX) recently announced that the company has a partnership with Software Tech Enterprises, Inc. (STE), a provider of Information Technology (IT) services to Federal, State and local government agencies.

This partnership will provide satellite tracking systems to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), enabling real-time visibility to high value assets like critical equipment and materials for disaster relief assistance.  These asset tracking solutions allow logistics managers to track and manage tens of thousands of assets in the field, especially in times of little or no cellular service and connectivity.

FEMA, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is the nation’s preeminent emergency management agency. The Numerex and STE program allows FEMA to maintain continuous visibility throughout the disaster supply chain which includes FEMA-owned assets and resources. FEMA has been using Numerex’s advanced satellite asset tracking systems since 2009, but now through STE, future growth opportunities may exist by expansion of the FEMA program or by furthering the program’s reach into additional federal agencies (OFAs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), state and local governments, as well as the private sector.

In addition to state of the art asset tracking technology, the STE and Numerex teams provide ongoing logistics and operational support as part of an end-to-end managed service solution.
