[SatNews] If it is a concern for the pilot, it is a concern for us...
Earlier this year, Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd., was awarded a contract for TC-100L amplifiers as part of a weight reduction initiative for the U.S. Armys OH-58 Kiowa Warrior. Todays update indicates deliveries of the TC-100L SATCOM amplifiers are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2013.
Elbit Systems of America in Fort Worth, Texas designs, manufactures, and maintains an advanced communications amplifier product line, and delivers their high power amplifiers to the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Army each year. Since 2010, on an existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with the Armys Aviation Applied Technology Directorate, Elbit has delivered over 300 TC-100D SATCOM amplifiers for the Armys Special Operations rotary wing platforms.
Elbit Systems of America has years of experience providing integrated solutions for the Armys rotary-wing fleet, which includes the OH-58, AH-64, CH-47, and the UH-60. Our engineers understand the importance of designing to solve size and weight challenges. says Raanan Horowitz, President and CEO of Elbit Systems of America. If it is a concern for the pilot, it is a concern for us. We are committed to providing advanced and reliable communications technology in small, lightweight, compact enclosures to meet the needs of our Army Aviators.
Recognizing the need to add capability while minimizing platform weight, Elbit also developed a dual-channel communications amplifier that supports the Armys legacy (ARC-201) radios along with the new Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) airborne radios running SRW & WNW waveforms. Elbits dual-channel avionic amplifier is smaller and lighter than the Armys current IFM amplifier and provides additional JTRS capability, allowing the Army to field new technology, maintain current capability, and reduce platform weight.
