John Ratigan, President of iGT
iDirect Government Technologies (iGT), a wholly owned subsidiary of VT iDirect (iDirect), today announced that John Ratigan, President of iGT, has won the 2011 Leaders Portfolio Award for Business Leader of the Year.
The prestigious award is designed to identify and reward businesses and business leaders with between 1 and 50 employees. Applicants were judged on their responses to a wide range of questions on leadership with their answers independently scored by a panel of judges including Dr. Rebecca Blacksmith, host of Leaders Portfolio with Dr. Rebecca Blacksmith, which airs on Washington, DC’s WTNT talk radio.
iGT serves the diverse and specialized needs of the Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian government agencies. From global logistics and disaster recovery to mobile communications, iGT provides satellite networks that play a critical role in government and defense communications.
Ratigan’s vision for iGT began as the federal arm of iDirect in 2003. The rapid growth of the federal group under Ratigan’s direction resulted in establishing iGT as a wholly owned subsidiary in April 2007. Under Ratigan’s leadership, the group has prospered tremendously and has become the de facto satellite technology standard for the U.S. military. iGT deployed thousands of terminals in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, as well as many additional federal, state and local government networks.
