Newtec Converges In India And Launches At Show


[SatNews] Newtec participates for the first time in India...

Newtec a global provider of satellite communications, is building upon its customer base as it exhibits at Convergence India for the first time this week, March 24-26.

The company, which already works with Indian satellite operator ISRO, DTH operators Doordarshan and Reliance, service provider Airtel, Io Global and ECIL among others, is launching itself at the show. Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec, said the company will be introducing state-of-the-art products and scalable, integrated solutions for broadcast contribution, distribution and Direct-To-Home, broadband access and backbone and trunking applications. Van Herck commented: “We already do a lot of business in India and see it as a market of vital importance for the future, especially because of its buoyancy and size. Our aim is to help customers achieve greater efficiency, increased performance and expanded market reach.”

Newtec is presenting a range of products at the show which include DualFlow™; a new technology that allows broadcasters to migrate cost-effectively from traditional ASI to IP-based satellite operation. FlexACM®; an end-to-end solution for boosting efficiency of IP trunking and IP backbone networks over satellite will also be explained at the Newtec stand.

Pradeep Asthana, Newtec India regional account manager said: “We will also be showing our award-winning Sat3Play®, which is an affordable two-way satellite broadband system designed for IP-based service providers. This system is perfect for India, which is a vast country. Many areas will really benefit from broadband access without the costly infrastructure.”

Outside of India Newtec’s customer base is worldwide including the industry’s broadcasters, satellite operators, telcos, systems houses and broadcasting unions. Newtec has regional offices as well as additional R&D centers located in the US, Singapore, China, UAE, Brazil, Germany and France.
