Two, New, GVF SATCOM Training Certificates

GVF Training has announced two new certifications for SATCOM technicians and engineers.

The new GVF Field Technician Certification recognizes that the holder has received thorough simulator-based online training for fixed VSAT installation and maintenance for minimum interference. The GVF Field Engineer Certification demonstrates broader SATCOM knowledge and skills, including industry business, DC and RF electronics, fixed terminal installation, SATCOM theory, operation of mobile terminals, spectrum analyzer technique, and uplinking from motorized earth stations such as teleports.

Greg Selzer, VP at SatProf, Inc., GVF's training program administrator, reported that these new certifications assist technicians and engineers who need recognition of their knowledge and skills but have not had an opportunity to attend an on-site Hands On Skills Test. Field Technician Certification holders can now earn public recognition and are ideally positioned to proceed to further GVF SATCOM Professional Certifications. The new Field Engineer Certification demonstrates a significant depth and breadth of knowledge that is relevant to technical staff in today's changing SATCOM industry.

Both certifications are now included in the GVF Training Membership (individual and group/company site license) at no additional charge. With the addition of these two certifications, GVF now offers 18 certifications.

Full details are available on the GVF training website or visit GVF stand #2139 during SATELLITE 2020 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Centre in Washington D.C from March 9-12th.
