Avanti's HYLAS-4 Satellite Obtains March 2018 Launch Niche

Avanti Communications Group (Avanti) has agreed to a launch slot for its HYLAS 4 satellite with Arianespace beginning March 1, 2018.

The intended launch configuration for this slot will enable additional fuel to be added to the HYLAS 4, thereby enabling the satellite to reach geostationary orbit approximately 90 days earlier than would otherwise have been the case.

Assuming the current launch manifest is maintained, HYLAS 4 will achieve geostationary orbit at approximately the same time as the previously announced launch date. Consequently, HYLAS 4 revenues would be expected to be gained from July 2018, as previously planned.

This configuration also provides a lower mission risk profile and enables sufficient fuel to be added to support the satellite for as many as 19 years in orbit, an increase of 27 percent over previous expectations.
