[SatNews] The ARINC engineering team responsible for maintaining most of the world’s vital airline communications has renewed its Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
ARINC’s GLOBALink(sm) Engineering group was recertified on November 15, 2010, for the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 rating, a clear indication of a high level of process maturity achieved at the world’s leading provider of aviation air/ground communications. ARINC’s GLOBALink Engineering group first attained CMMI Level 3 in 2005, and was recertified in 2008. The CMMI Level 3 award follows an in-depth assessment of the GLOBALink Engineering group’s process integration and improvement and was conducted by Process Transition International. The assessment was conducted on three key projects developed by the GLOBALink Engineering team; an ACARS® turn-key replacement system, ARINC’s new ATN (Aeronautical Telecommunications Network) router, and ARINC’s new central ACARS message processor.
