Hughes...Provides Allies With On The Sea And In The Air Solutions (COTM)

[SatNews] Solutions for military and government that reduces costs and provides the most advanced COTM is a good thing.

High-Performance IP Routing Built on a solid foundation of IP features and functionality, the HN/HX systems are the solutions for satellite routing where full IP functionality is required together with performance.

Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) provider of broadband satellite solutions and services, today announced it has been awarded a contract to provide airborne and maritime tactical communications solutions for an international Coalition partner supporting intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) initiatives. Under the terms of the agreement, Hughes will employ its advanced HX System, a platform that provides full Internet Protocol (IP) functionality with enhanced security standards to meet the unique requirements of ISR applications.

“We are pleased to continue to support allies of the United States and enhance international missions,” said Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of Hughes Defense and Intelligence Systems Division.  “Our powerful and field proven HX System is ideal for ISR applications, delivering bandwidth efficient solutions to help reduce costs while also providing the most advanced communications-on-the-move technologies available to military and government customers.”

The HX architecture employs one or more sophisticated Gateways under a single, comprehensive network management system — ExpertNMS — with a highly intuitive and interactive user interface, featuring advanced diagnostics. The system’s bandwidth allocation scheme ensures optimal utilization of satellite bandwidth by releasing assignments to idle terminals, resulting in lower operational costs and improved efficiency.
