NASA Teases As We Wait For Info About Record-Breaking Galaxy Cluster

[SatNews] Short on info, but long on potential...

NASA will hold a media teleconference at 1 p.m. EDT Wednesday, August 15, to discuss an extraordinary galaxy cluster that is smashing several important cosmic records.

The news comes with a big tease—information from NASA about a record-breaking galaxy—and then we won't know any more until next week!

Could it be one of these galaxies in a group?

Next Wednesday NASA will have assembled the following panelists:

  • Michael McDonald, Hubble Fellow, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts
  • Bradford Benson, astrophysicist, University of Chicago, Illinois
  • Megan Donahue, professor of astronomy, Michigan State University, East Lansing
  • Martin Rees, professor of cosmology and astrophysics, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom
For dial-in information to ask questions, reporters must send their name, media affiliation and telephone number to j.d.harrington@nasa.gov by noon August 15.

The general public also can ask the panelists questions via Twitter using the hashtag #asknasa.

Audio of the teleconference will be streamed live at:
