Globalstar Europe Satellite Services... Italian Implementation (SatCom)

[SatNews] Duplex product sales will now be handled in Italy by an authorized distributor...

Globalstar Europe Satellite Services Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Globalstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSAT) has signed an authorized distribution agreement with Sailornet S.R.L., one of the leading providers of satellite communications services in Italy. Sailornet will act as a National Distributor for Globalstar's suite of duplex products to the defense, government and marine (commercial, leisure and yachting) sectors within the Italian Mainland Territory via their established re-seller channel.

On July 13th 2011, Globalstar announced that six new second-generation Globalstar satellites were successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, using the Soyuz launch vehicle. This was the second successful launch of Globalstar's new second-generation satellites and the Company is planning to conduct two additional launches of six satellites per launch prior to the end of the year. The Globalstar second-generation satellite constellation is designed to support the Company's current lineup of voice, Duplex and Simplex data products and services including its lineup of SPOT retail consumer products. The new satellites are designed to last for 15 years, twice the lifespan of Globalstar's first-generation satellites.
