US Patent Blessing For Latitude Technologies

With headquarters in Victoria, British Columbia, this manufacturer of satellite data and voice comms equipment and services as well as a provider of flight data monitoring and flight following has just received a Notice of Allowance for Patent Application No. 14/762,188 for their “Wireless Software Dialer and Messaging Head” invention—and that recipient is Latitude Technologies.

The patent covers systems and methods for an independent device to control an aircraft SATCOM to make phone calls or transfer data with the ground.

According to Tim Curtis, the Vice President of Information Services for Latitude, this patent recognizes the team effort by the company to advance connectivity between flight crews and ground-based dispatch and maintenance operations and will become a focal point for partnering on new airborne applications that improve flight safety and efficiency.

Latitude will be displaying at the National Business Aviation Association annual trade show in Orlando, November 1-3, at Booth #2641.
