The technologies that have delivered communications from the strategic to the tactical commander to the warfighter, and from ISR assets to weapons targeting and fire control in the past are no longer adequate. Data links, always at the forefront of this critical interconnection, are evolving, and alternative technologies are being developed to exploit the capacity for IP-based communications. Additionally, data links, in conjunction with rapidly emerging new networking waveforms, will continue to play a critical role in overcoming many of the global, joint, network-centric, continuous, and agile communications challenges facing tomorrow's war fighters.
This outstanding conference brings together the military experts who are developing the communications and data link requirements and capabilities of the future.
- What is the status and future of OSD and service plans and roadmaps?
- How are GIG, FORCEnet, LandWarNet, WIN-T and JTRS driving communications and data link requirements?
- How will new network waveforms provide increased capabilities in mobile ad hoc network management and reconfigurability?
- What role will data links play in developing the Joint Aerial Layer Network? Network-enabled warfare?
- How are IP-based communications changing the game?
- How do we address the spectrum crunch?
