Hughes... A Terminal Case Of Success (SATCOM)

[SatNews] Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) has shipped more than 327,000 broadband satellite terminals in 2010, the most ever in one year, bringing its cumulative number shipped worldwide to more than 2.5 million.

The new record reinforces the company’s leadership in both broadband services and technology, with customers in over 100 countries and in all market segments. Enterprises of all sizes across virtually all vertical sectors, as well as government and multi-national organizations, rely on Hughes for their broadband networking requirements. It’s successful HughesNet® consumer service in North America now exceeds over half a million subscribers, and is growing at accelerated rates as qualified customers take advantage of the $58.7 million subsidy awarded to Hughes under The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Broadband Stimulus program. “Every one of those 2.5 million terminals is a testament to the trust placed in Hughes by our customers for their communications solutions,” said Pradman Kaul, chairman and CEO of Hughes. “It’s what drives us to innovate and continually refine our satellite technology and services—ensuring they succeed, so we succeed. And that hasn’t changed since we shipped our first terminal to Wal-Mart in 1986, nor has the pride in our people who make it happen.”
