MEASAT... That's Music To A Satellite's Ears (SatBroadcasting™)

[SatNews] MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (“MEASAT”) has been signed by Transmedia Communication SA to distribute the iConcerts HD channel via the MEASAT-3a satellite. iConcerts is a unique cross-platform service dedicated to live music.

With a library of more than 1,000 live music performances, TV shows and documentaries, iConcerts features some of the world’s most popular international artists. iConcerts HD has already established itself as the first 24/7 HDTV concert music channel in Europe. Terry Bleakley, Vice President, Commercial Operations, MEASAT, said, “There has been a significant increase in the number of HDTV Pay-TV services broadcast in Asia, and we are encouraged that MEASAT has captured market leadership creating Asia’s strongest HDTV broadcast distribution neighborhood.



The Company will also be showcasing 3DTV satellite distribution during CommunicAsia 2010 this entire week at Booth E2-07 in Hall 6. The 3D content will be broadcast live via the MEASAT-3a satellite and can be viewed at the booth over the duration of the exhibition. Paul Brown-Kenyon, Chief Operating Officer, MEASAT, said, “Over the last six months, we are seeing growing interest in 3D TV broadcasting, and are working with partners to explore the benefits and challenges of using satellite as a distribution platform.”
