[SatNews] The past problems with the Soyuz launch vehicle have now affected this Company's launch plans with Arianespace...

Globalstar, Inc. (Nasdaq:GSAT) has announced that its upcoming launch of six second-generation (2G) satellites planned for mid-October will now be delayed. Russian Space Agency officials notified the Company of the delay and said it will undertake complete inspections of all Soyuz 2.1a launch vehicles, including three to be used for launches to the International Space Station and Globalstar's, following a recent launch failure. The Company and its launch services provider Arianespace expect to receive a formal report from their Russian partners in the coming days. Once the report is provided and analyzed, the Company will announce a new launch date. Globalstar is currently deploying its 2G satellite constellation and Arianespace has been contracted to conduct launches of six satellites each. The first two launches were successfully conducted in October of 2010 and July of 2011 and two additional launches are expected to take place in the coming months.
