SkyTrac Systems has launched the Company's ITRACS, their nexgen portable transceiver for flight following and text messaging. Leveraging on technology from SkyTrac’s DSAT, the ITRACS is smaller, lighter, and includes new features and functionalities.

The ITRACS is a fully portable flight following and messaging solution packing two internal batteries for extra long life portable operation, or it can operate using aircraft power. With three antenna configuration options, ITRACS is a highly flexible portable flight following solution. Users have the choice of using a GPS/Iridium dual antenna integrated into the hardware, a TSOd GPS/Iridium dual antenna installed on the exterior of the aircraft, or portable velcro or magnet GPS and Iridium antennas. ITRACS is Bluetooth enabled; users wirelessly connect a blackberry to send email messages over the satellite network. ITRACS is configured remotely using SkyWeb, SkyTrac’s asset management and mapping tool. The ITRACS is well suited to organizations that require reliable satellite based flight following to comply with government Automatic Fight Following (AFF) requirements.
