digiGO! — Heads-Up Head-End Handiwork For IPTV + Broadcast

Appear TV has launched their new 8VSB input module during NAB 2009, in collaboration with Sencore, the Company's business partner in North America.

The new 8VSB card is an American-standardized direct bi-product of the european DVB-S/S2 card. Appear TV's modular head-ends are designed to achieve flexible, high density solutions that enable multiple inputs, descrambling/scrambling, as well as a variety of output options that include IP, ASI, QAM, FM Radio and analog TV. The Company's head-ends are suitable for multiple network architectures, ranging from the streaming and multiplexing of digital content over IP-based nets, to the conversion of digital content for analog nets as well as the distribution of TV and radio.

Appear TV SC2100 head-end The Company also launched their new Pro MPEG Forward Error Correction software that ensures operators can maximize bandwidth efficiency and increase the number of streams transmitted from the SC2000/2100 head-end. This provides the industry's highest density IP streaming solution. The error-resiliency provided through Pro MPEG FEC means bandwidth usage can be optimized, bringing an increased number of streams available for delivery via the head-end. The need for multiple boxes for reception, scrambling and descrambling, and streaming, is removed. The StreamCore SC2000 (4RU chassis) and the StreamCore SC2100 (1 RU) are based on a flexible platform that hosts different modules, which allows for a wide range of different configs, all tailored to specific customers' needs. There's support for signal reception, descrambling, scrambling, IP streaming and, again the ability to host multiple inputs. The received services can be descrambled using DVC (common interface) or AES with virtual smartcards.
