[SatNews] It's good news that is also a win-win...

Skyware Global, provider of satcom terminal solutions, has been named Employer of the Year by the Disabled American Veterans and Auxiliary of North Carolina. The prestigious award recognizes the company’s peerless record in hiring both veterans and disabled veterans in line with its mantra: ‘Talent has no boundaries: Workforce diversity includes workers with disabilities’.

Over the past year, Skyware Global has distinguished itself to become the number one ranked employer of veterans in the state. Of the 175 employees hired this fiscal year, 12 percent were military veterans and of that 50 percent were disabled veterans. Over 10 percent of its total employees are disabled veterans — a statistic that was particularly noted by the judging panel.

David C. McCourt, CEO, Skyware Global, says: “Skyware Global is pleased to provide employment opportunities for men and women who proudly served on behalf of our nation on foreign and domestic soils, and especially those injured on her behalf. Skyware Global believes that those veterans hired bring a wealth of knowledge, leadership and a unique set of skills to the job by thinking creatively and resourcefully and with deep commitment to accomplishing the mission at hand.”

The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary was founded in 1922 by women who saw a need for assistance to the families, widows and orphans of disabled veterans, as well as the disabled veterans themselves. With membership open to family members of disabled or deceased veterans, 1000 DAVA nationwide units continue to serve disabled veterans, with particular emphasis on the families of those veterans.
