Washington Space Business Roundtable (WSBR) To Feature Manson Brown Of NOAA At Upcoming Luncheon

[Satnews] The theme of this WSBR event will be NOAA Commercial Space Policy: Balancing Public Safety and Commercial Space Opportunities and will feature Manson Brown, the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation and Prediction and Deputy Administrator for NOAA.

The luncheon will be held on November 4 and will focus on the recently released NOAA Commercial Space Policy. This policy was drafted to “encourage a robust and transparent marketplace for commercial space businesses to provide environmental data and other space services to NOAA.”

A retired Coast Guard Vice Admiral with an engineering background and extensive experience across the federal government, Assistant Secretary Brown was sworn in as NOAA’s Deputy Administrator seven months ago. In his role at NOAA, VADM Brown plays a major role driving NOAA priorities for weather and water services, climate science, plus the agency’s integrated mapping and Earth Observing (EO) capabilities. His portfolio also includes agency-wide direction for satellites, space weather, water and ocean observations and forecasts to best serve American communities and businesses.
