On the DSEI Show Floor: Paradigm Showcasing Their MANTA® COTM Solution

This year at DSEI, Paradigm is showcasing their latest SATCOM terminal the MANTA®, a revolutionary comms-on-the-go and comms-on-the-pause single case solution.

The MANTA is the complete solution for ‘anywhere’ IP data connectivity via Wi-Fi and Ethernet — just by adding power. There is no need for any setup or pointing — SATCOM made simple.

The versatile MANTA operates straight ‘out-of-the-box’ for simple Deploy & Go SATCOMs or can be quickly fitted to any vehicle (land or sea) for Communications-On-The-Move (COTM). The MANTA uses software beam forming for satellite acquisition and tracking; the on-board PIM® (Paradigm Interface Module) provides an optimized satellite service requiring no specialist skills to offer easy, high speed data service anywhere. The MANTA+ uses an enhanced feature set to integrate 3G/4G/LTE cellular, radio and Wi-Fi connectivity that improves on the standard MANTA package to produce an outstandingly flexible terminal that is always connected, switching between terrestrial and satellite networks to best suit the needs of the user.

The MANTA is Paradigm’s latest PIM-enabled terminal providing rapid, high-speed connectivity from a single case. Rugged, versatile and discreet, the MANTA is the complete solution providing integrated RF, modem and terminal control, as well as a handheld or dash-mounted ‘Remote’ for live beam heading, signal strength and system status and control info.

Paradigm’s other PIM-enabled terminals include the ‘internet in a backpack’ SWARM® and the flyaway CONNECT100T and HORNET range. These all integrate the PIM to enable a non-skilled user to point a terminal in less than a minute, simply by following straightforward onboard audio and visual cues. The PIM is a rugged, field-proven, global solution operating in many different market sectors across five continents. It can work with any air interface to provide a common pointing experience across a whole range of manufacturers’ terminals. The PIM integrates into all the major satellite networks as well as a wide range of modems, supporting the major types from iDirect, Newtec, UHP, Comtech and Teledyne Paradise among others.

At DSEI, videos of all Paradigm’s PIM-enabled terminals will be available to view on the company's stand (N9-305) with both the SWARM and MANTA available for attendees to be hands-on with. Ongoing booth activities will include demonstrations of the straightforward operation of the PIM, with attendees able to experience how easily the onboard visual and optional audio cues guide the user during the pointing process for the firm's flyaway terminals.
