Using XA-Series appliances deployed at ABS Earth stations, the ABS network now supports optimized wireless connections for any authorized customers that may be using XipLink products to access and optimize connections across the ABS network. A single hub-side XA-Series appliance can support thousands of users, based on Logical Wireless Network profiles that are uniquely configured to deliver the maximum capacity for each user or remote site.
XipLink’s XA-Series of appliances include a range of industrial computing engines that scale from 2 Mbps to high-performance systems running at 155 Mbps for the largest of installations. For mobile users, the recently announced, palm-sized XipStick™ delivers complete XipOS functionality while the XipLink client software for Windows is an ideal solution for single user businesses or residential customers when used in combination with ABS’s SurfBeam™ platform.
“The addition of ABS as a new XipLink customer is testament to the reliability and ease of use we deliver in our system. After a few months of significant testing with multiple platforms, including SCPC links, iDirect TDMA networks and ViaSat SurfBeam™ users, it was clear that XipLink’s broad product line addresses the entire base of requirements in the ABS footprint,” says Sasmith Reddi, Managing Director of Asia for XipLink. “Additionally, the XipOS technology will provide dramatic improvement to the service levels ABS users receive, often doubling or tripling their throughput.”
