Moving On Up... Azercosmos Names New Chief Commercial Officer


[Satnews] Azercosmos has appointed Dan Radu as its Chief Commercial Officer.


Dan Radu, the new Chief Commercial Officer for Azercosmos.

Dan has extensive operational and sales experience acquired over the past 20 years in companies such as Intelsat, EMC2, and Cisco. He has made contributions to the successful implementation of several projects in companies Deutsche Telekom, and Discovery Communications specializing in the field of both satellite and media. With expertise in traditional cable, modern satellite and media operations, Dan will set direction to Azercosmos’ long-term development strategy for years to come and will be responsible for the company’s sales potential.

Taking into account the increasing demand for DTH, media and broadband applications, Azercosmos is planning to further strengthen its regional strategy and capacity via Azerspace-2, the second telecommunication satellite of Azercosmos. Mr. Radu will help Azercosmos in better understanding the needs of new customers in new regions which are targets of the company. Note that Azerspace-2 is scheduled to be launched in 2017.

Dan will lead both the sales and marketing departments, and will take up his new position at Azercosmos’ Baku headquarters.
